We are currently running a Win 2k Server SP2 in a
development environmrent. We have recently begun
experiencing an issue using terminal services. Almost
everytime a client launches a terminal service session the
server reboots, any ideas... I have considered Microsoft
Security Bulletin MS01-052 but am looking for some
direction TIA

Allan,

One of the first things that comes to mind is to install WIN2000 SP4.

Also, are there any event ids that might be of help to us? Are the users
connecting over the LAN or over a WAN? What client are they using? I am
assuming RDP - the latest and greatest?

Is antivirus software running? Does the reboot come as they establish the
connection or have they already established the connection and are trying to
access / open some application?

How many users are on this TS? What applications?

What type of hardware?

HTH,

Cary

I ran into this issue recently. The culprit was Symantec Anti-Virus. A
quick registry edit solved the problem.
