I am administrator on a Windows 2000 server. It's only function is
application server.

The problem:
1) I press Ctrl+ALT+Delete,
2) I enter my username and password,
3) Windows starts logging me on,
4) and then it kicks me out back to the logon-box, where I have to press
Ctrl+ALT+Delete again.

Why can't I log on anymore? Even after rebooting.
PS: I changed no login details accept for adding the administrator to remote
services and giving him full access rights. I logged on 100% before I
scratched where it didn't itch.

Some background...

I wanted to be able to remote desktop in, but it kept on saying I don't have
rights. So I went to the Comp Mgntment, Local Policies and RAS and enabled
Dialin & VPN-access everywhere I could.

What went wrong? How can i log in again? Please help. Whole Application
Server is down!

I got the solution!

I remoted into the server's local permissions with Comp Mgmnt and removed
the administrator from the USERS members-list.
Since the Administrator is only an administrator, it works 100%. Logs in
beautifully.

Best Regards

I'm glad that you solved the problem.
But the solution proves that you have an explicit Deny somewhere
for your Users. That's generally not recommended, because it will
be impossible to differentiate between users, as you have
experienced (explicit Deny takes always precedence).
