Discussion:
Keep getting logged out immediately after logging in to RDC

Has anyone else come across this problem before? I try and connect to a W2K
SP4 box running a single user terminal services service and could connect
without a problem up until a few weeks ago (where the machine was rebooted
and a security patch applied) I do not remember which one unfortunatley.

It looks as if it is about to log you in, but then straight away logs you
out??

I also have exactly the same problem from a machine at home, - trying to
connect from a WXP SP2 box to another WXP SP2 box running (allowing remote
desktop).

It is very frustrating, any ideas?

Just checked and it does not appear to have the service running:

"Just a wild guess: did you update the Nvidia driver on the server
lately? Immediate logoffs are a known problem with some Nvidia
drivers:
Nvidia drivers 56.72 or 56.64 both cause this problem.
Nvidia 2.20 WDMs works fine.
Driver version 53.04 found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/pc_winxp-2k_53.04.html
works OK.
Disabling the 'helper' NVIDIA service makes it work again.
(nvsvc32.exe listed in the Task Manager) "

Only if you already have some mechanism for installing software
remotely.
