Have just rebuilt a win2k server,new name,promoted to a dc , there is a
pdc on the domain.
Find we cannot login on the console or remotely.
Is there any way i can adjust the setting's on the pdc so that i can
gain access.
All help greatly received

In the domain controller security policy assign the group login locally
security permission.

Domain Controllers Require the "Log on Locally" Group Policy Object for
Terminal Services Client Connections

Have tried that already no joy.
Just to recap this is a brand new server that has just been promoted to
a DC, after rebooting cannot get access at all from console or remote
logins
the error "does not permit you logon interactively" appears.
All other dc's on network are ok as indeed is the pdc, I really don't
want to rebuild it..
Anyone got any ideas plse advise
Thanks Steve

Since this problem has no relation to terminal Services (you can't
log on to the physical console either), I would repost in another
newsgroup to get more help.

I assume that you try to logon to the console with a Domain
Administrator account? If that is the case and you still get this
error message, I think you have to demote the server again to a
member server to gain access to it.

Or: troubleshoot from the pdc. Enable full auditing of security
events, check the EventLog on the server (should be possible to do
that remotely, I think), doublecheck all your Group Policies and
account restrictions.
