"The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the
licensing protocol. Please try connecting to the remote computer again..."

I have error 1004 on W2K server. I can log on all day long local and a
friend on an older machine can log on. All of our XP machines are locked out
and have been for 10 days. The server has SP4 on it.

Not sure about LS. I have AD on 1 machine and TS on the other.

Any help would be wonderful as someone else set this up and I am lost! and
he is gone.

You must have an Licensing Server installed and activated.
Best to find out about that first.
