The driver shows up as Acrobat PDFWriter/clientname/sessionnumber, but no
prompt for path/filename. Any ideas?

What driver is being used on the server side for the auto-created printer?
You'll need to make sure that the driver being used is either the same as the
client (not a PCL/PS BasedUniversal or fallback driver) or an EMF Based
Universal Driver (i.e. Thinprint, triCerat Simplify Printing, Citrix PS 4.0
UPD III)

It is the same driver. Adobe AcroBat PDFWriter 4.0. All of the local
printers show up and the client can choose and sucessfully print to any but
the Adobe.

Here's deployment info for Acrobat 5.0. Perhaps this will help:

http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/5421UsingWTS.pdf

I use CutePDF on TS and on my home PC, and this allows me to print from a TS
Application to the PDF Writer on the TS or on my remote PC.

Thanks Patrick. The deployment link you provided appears to be certified
with pdfwriter 5.0 on w2k advanced server using Citrix. I am using
pdfwriter 4.0, on w2k standard server/RDC instead of Citrix. I also
installed CutePDF on the server and on the client, but it only shows up as
being on the server in the printer list. In other words it there is no
CutePDFWriter/clientname/sessionnumber to choose in the printer list on the
client.

Why not just install Cute PDF on the server and you won't have to worry about
the client, as you can select the save location (for the PDF file) on the
server or on the Client Network.

Spend some time googling, and I'm sure you'll find a similar document on
Acrobat 4.0.

Acrobat 4.0 is an old piece of software, which does for $300 what you can
get for free or less than $30 from software that's designed to work on TS or
Citrix. Unless you own many licenses for Acrobat 4.0 you might want to
consider switching to a newer product.

Remember that if you're running Acrobat on TS you need a license for every
connection, which costs thousands of $$$.
