I have a windows 2003 TSE with 20 clients. Its worked fine for 2 years for
all 20 clients. Within the past 6 months, one use have found that his remote
desktp icons disappear randomly but a refresh restores them - albeit in a
different location. For example, his logs in and starts working. Suddenly
he'll notice My Computer is gone. He refreshes and My Computer is back, but
in a new location. Next time, a shortcut to a share disappears and is
refreshed to a new location.
Only one client with this issue. No event log items recorded. User previous
worked for 1.5 years with no issue. User originally had WIn98 client and was
updated to new PC with WinXP Pro and problem followed him from the Win98 box
to the new WinXP box. RDP software removed and reinstalled. Any thoughts?
