Hello,

Following situation :

SBS2000 with Terminal Server Licensing installed and activated
10 CALS installed, 10 CALS issued to clients
Seperate Terminal Server working properly
at the moment there are 6 temporary licenses issued.

When I try to connect to the Terminal Server with a Windows 98 client I
should receive a temporary license for this machine correct ?

Well I don't get a temporary license for that win 98 client.
When I try connecting with the Terminal Services Client.
I get the following message :

Terminal Services Client Disconnected
The Terminal Server has ended the connection

If I try connecting with a remote desktop client (2003 Server version) I
receive the following message :

The external computer has ended the session due to an error in the
licenseprotocol. Try reconnecting to the server.

On a Windows 2000 or XP machine I can connect with the 2003 Remote Desktop
client so its not due to the remote desktop client version.

What can I do ?

Which OS are you running on the Terminal Server?

Just guessing, but it seems like you are running a Windows 2003
Terminal Server. If that's the case, this isn't going to work. A
2003 TS need to connect to a 2003 TS Licensing Server. A W2K or
SBS2000 server cannot hold 2003 TS CALs.

If you run W2K TS, please post the Events from the TS EventLog
regarding licensing.

Hello Vera,

Thanks for the response.
The Terminal Server is running the Windows 2000 OS, The Small Business
Server is also Windows 2000 OS
I do not have any events regarding licensing on the server, where should I
check that ?
Thanks

Start - Administrative Tools - EventViewer is where you find all
system and application events.
Also check in TS Licensing Manager if it is properly handing out
the built-in "Existing W2K TS CALs" to your XP Pro and W2K Pro
clients. If it does, the LS is functioning OK and is being detected
by your TS.
If that seems OK, try to delete the existing license from the W98
client:
