I have a windows 2000 server with a twenty user license.

I have two people logged in and the thired person get this:
"Terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections. ..."

Is there a way to monitor who is on my server?

If I am no where near the 20 user maximum, how do I set the server to
recognize the 20 user license?

I believe the user CALs for your W2K server are not destined for the TS, this
requires extra TS UserCalls.
On a default TS you have the ability to access the console and 2 other TS
sessions.

So in other words you are saying that the Windows 2000 Server 20 user license
I purchased does not cover terminal services that are a part of and a
function of Windows 2000 Server?

Specifically, where do would I get those licenses?

terminal services manager shows who is connected

but first a couple questions - is this server configured for administration
mode, or application mode?
administration mode only allows 2 connections
and do you have a terminal server license server running?

Ah, I found the terminal services manager. Thanks.

It appears that it was set to administration mode. When I discovered
(through the help facility) how to install the license server, I installed
the license server and set the mode to application mode.
