The explanation is rather easy and very common, now that we agree
on what you want. It is most likely a driver issue.
If the driver names do not match *exactly*, or the driver is not
present at all on the Office PC, redirection cannot occur.
As an example, if the driver on the Wyse client is called
"HP DeskJet 3845" and at the Office PC it is called
"HP Deskjet 3845", printer redirection will not occur (case
sensitive!).
Moreover, the HP DeskJet 3845 printer driver is not included as a
native driver on XP, and to make things worse, it is not included
in the drivers that are tested with Terminal Services, meaning it
is unsupported and will probably not work correctly, if at all, in
an rdp session.
That's why I suggested that you use a more common driver.
Post by Vera Noest [MVP]If the printer isn't autocreated in the session, you probably
have a driver mismatch problem. Try to use a native driver which
is present on both the Office PC and the Wyse client. For HP
DeskJets, the HP DeskJet 550C usually gives good results.

Post by Vera Noest [MVP]She is located at the Wyse Terminal and the printer is attached
to the Wyse Terminal. She would like to print from her networked
office pc onto the printer that is locally attached to the Wyse
Terminal, eg: she RDP's into her work pc and opens her emails.
She clicks on file - print and sees the printer that is attached
to her Wyse Terminal under her list of printers. She clicks on
print and voila, the email is printed onto her local Wyse
Terminal printer.
Under RDP - options - local resources there is an option to
connect automatically to local devices when logged into the
remote computer. Disk drives, printers and serial ports. I've
checked the options for printers and would therefore expect this
lcoal printer to appear on her office pc - but it doesn't.
