terminal server is heavily used in this environment. 4 remote offices RDP
into main office. The Problem: when a user prints and word document for
example; they click file print, click the drop down box to choose their
printer, and they have to shuffle through 20 to 30 printers to locate their
printer. Every other sessions printer is listed.

By default, normal users see *only* their own redirected printers.

If your users can see each others redirected printers, then they are
Administrators or Power Users.
If that is the case, printer problems are the least of your worries.

Can you elaborate on your setup, then?
I have never come across a situation were users with normal user
rights were able to see each others redirected printers, except in
the early days of W2K before SP4 and under specific conditions:

Fixed in W2K SP4:
253922 - Users' Automatically Created Printers Visible to Other
Users
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=253922

Fixed in Office 2000 Service Pack 3
297883 - XL2000: You Can See Other Users' Printers in a Terminal
Server Session
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=297883

Office 2002 hotfix available:
313683 - XL2002: Can See Other Users' Printers in Terminal Server
Session
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=313683

Hi Vera,
What if the printers are all loaded on the terminal server and you want each
user to only see the printers that are near them? That is the situation that
I have. Users login to terminal server and can accidentally print to a
printer that is in another state. Is there a script that will run to only
show their printers?

thanks, Dan

No, you can't make printers "invisible" with a script.
Printers installed on the TS will be visible to any user, although
you can set the printer permissions to allow *printing* with these
printers to certain user groups only.

If you want users to see only the appropriate printers, then make
sure that they have the proper printer connections on their
workstation, and then redirect their workstation printers into
their TS session.
